Becoming Things
Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Oh ‘ello! You might have noticed a sharp decrease in the frequency of my posting. Should I provide you with a sound rationalization? =)

Over the past several weeks, God has turned my attention toward what I am becoming, more than what I am doing. The theory being that if I am the right sort of person (a reflexive pray-er, inclined to share the mind of Christ, resilient in adversity, certain in uncertainty), I will be equipped for all sorts of doing things properly.

I have not yet achieved such a fine state =P but Lord willing I am on the way. So I thought I should let you know that He has had me in a sort of hibernation, but that He is bringing me back out of it so that I can write more lovely words for you to enjoy.

The moral of this story being — sometimes He might expect for you to spend time in regeneration and contemplation — so do not be bustling all the time, even in a brotherly fashion! Know when you ought to be resting. =P

I Am The Greatest
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Several times I have said that I am the greatest public authority on brothers and sisters in Christ…but this is like saying I am the greatest public authority on musical toenails. There is not a lot of competition.

That’s why so many of my posts have been links to other resources…because those resources are so very scant and hard to find! I am trying somehow to broaden the field, get the ball rolling, whichever way you like to say it.

My Question: why do you think it is so difficult to find stuff to read about brothers and sisters in Christ? I am sure that other people know much more about it than I do, but it seems like they never bothered to write it down. Whyever not??

My Theory: In recent times, with gender-type barriers breaking down and things like marriage and sexual purity coming under attack (which isn’t that new, by the way), Christians really like to talk about Romancey Relationships to the exclusion of — sometimes everything. In previous times? My only guess is that things went the other way, with men and women being so far separated that even friendship was out of the question, let alone sibling-type love. But that’s a mostly groundless guess, since I know very little history.

My Subtle Suggestion: Post Things on my forum, or Say Things to your friends, or Google Things and let me know if you find them — about girls needing brothers and guys needing sisters, or leastaways being blessed by them according to God’s design.

Yeah…I’m tired of being able to search for brotherly things on Google and find myself when I click “I’m Feeling Lucky”. o_O!!!

Visionary Sisters
Sunday, October 4th, 2009

Hey all! In lieu (that’s a hard word to spell) of me actually creating new content, allow me to link to some other wonderful corner of the internet again. Here is the link to the Visionary Daughters blog, where Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin write words. They are concerned with all aspects of how a young lady conducts herself — but of special interest to you and me is this wonderful piece on brothers and sisters in Christ. Wonderful! Piece!

I know it’s a long article for your internet attention span to devour, but try, I beg of you.

Actually, I think I will link to this post on the Articles page, too. Yes. I will do this.
